Abstract

La présente invention décrit des verres au phosphore contenant du béryllium et du fluor et Nd**3+ comme constituant actif produisant l'effet laser. La formule de cette composition est la suivante : A h Bek **2+All **3+Ndm **3+P n **5+(Ox **2-Fy **1-) dans laquelle A est un cation du groupe Na**1+, Li**1+, K**1+, RB**1+, et Cs**1+, m peut aller jusqu'à 0,015, 2x plus y valent toujours 1; h va de 0,08 à 0,2; k est 0,15 à 0,3; l est 0 à 0,1; m est 0,02 à 0,15, et x est 2n à 3,2. Cette composition possède une période d'extinction de la fluorescence supérieure à 450 microsecondes à une longueur d'onde d'environ 1 050 nm, une section efficace d'émission stimulée supérieure à 3,3 x 10-**20 cm**2, et un indice n2 inférieur à 0,6 x 10**-3 cm**2 / (300 volts)**2. Utilisation de ces compositions pour les lasers à verres.
