Abstract

The frame of a folding perambulator may be used to carry a shell in which a child can be seated to face either forwards or backwards. Further, the shell may be replaced by a carry cot for a young baby, so that it is mounted horizontally. The frame has four wheels. Viewed from the side, the tubular frame has a scissor linkage for each pair of wheels at one side, one arm of the linkage carrying one of two hooked handles. The handles are secured by clips. A side stay is attached to the top of the other arm of the linkage and to a point near the bottom of the handle. A swinging arm attached below this point, supports the seat shell. These two side frames are interconnected by folding linkages with central locking knobs.
