Abstract

The folding skirt for hovercraft keels forms a cylindrical pressurised enclosure between the bottom and the interior walls of the keels of the craft. The skirt (1) is fixed to the underside of the craft and is smoothed and made airtight when extended by the twin bibs or flexible horns (2) which have spring loaded retaining cables (3, 4). The skirts are closed tight to the underside of the craft by the lifting cables (7) pulling horizontally on the skirt extension (5) by the winch (9).
