Abstract

The equipment secures two panels together in the same plane along their adjacent edges, being partic. for panes of glass in a large window. It incorporates an internal profiled section forming a support and of straight omega-section running for the full length between the panels with a central straight U-section having outer flanges at right angles to the arms of the U, against which the panel edges bear via sealing material. The fixing device (9) fitting between the panels and in the central part of the U-section is held in place by mechanical distortion. Typically the profiled section can be narrowed at one point (1f, 1g) the device being inserted through this point and then expanded outwards at the bottom.
