Abstract

L'invention concerne une électrode pour l'utilisation dans l'électrolyse d'une solution aqueuse d'un halogénure métallique. L'électrode selon l'invention comprend : a. un substrat électroconducteur, et b. un revêtement sur ledit substrat, comprenant : 1. 5 à 75 moles % d'oxyde d'iridium, 2. 5 à 70 moles % d'au moins un oxyde métallique choisi parmi les oxydes de titane, de tantale et de niobium, et 3. 20 à 70 moles % d'au moins un composé choisi parmi l'oxyde d'étain et l'oxyde de cobalt, la somme des pourcentages molaires oxyde d'iridium 1, plus oxyde métallique 2 étant d'au moins 30 moles %. Applications : électrolyse de saumure diluée, à basses températures, avec un bon rendement en hypochlorite.
