Abstract

The car transporter lorry has carrying capacity increased by having one or more sections of the upper deck pivoted about transverse axes to hold the vehicles in a sloping setting. One end of one vehicle is slightly under the end of the adjacent vehicle but without touching the vehicles underneath. The design utilises otherwise wasted space between the decks. The sections do not impede the loading and unloading actions.
