Abstract

A fabric for stiffening or reinforcing garment collars comprises two layers of parallel twisted yarns, called principal yarns. These yarns are joined by e.g. weaving or other known means, and the yarn layers are then juxtaposed and joined, e.g. by chemical bonding or thermofusing. One layer of principal yarns is of right-hand twist and the other layer is of left-hand twist. Because of the opposed twist of the principal yarns of the fabric layers of the interlining, the collar has tips or points which do not distort, but curve inwardly in the same direction.
