Abstract

The precast reinforced concrete unit has an inverted assymetric 'T' section and is used to build the walls of a swimming pool. It is connected to an in situ reinforced concrete slab (9) forming the pool floor. The connection is made by placing in situ concrete against the toe, the joint interface length exceeding the depth of the toe or the floor slab. The extended interface may be formed by a vertical step (10) in the top horizontal surface of the toe, the arrangement extending seepage paths and improving the seal. The step may be located a short interval from the front face of the stem, its top edge defining the top of the floor and limiting a curve (13) in the re-entrant angle to the wall.
