Abstract
The electromagnetic disc brake has a solenoid released brake pad, moved axially into braking contact with the disc by springs and moved away by a solenoid. The air gap is automatically adjusted. The adjusting mechanism (B) blocks axial movement of the solenoid core (4) in the direction of the rotating brake disc (17). The blocking mechanism is released by a carrier (16) connected firmly to the armature. The spring loaded balls (14) of the adjuster are pushed into a conical seat.
