Abstract

The device enables telephones to be used with the users hands free by having manually operated switch in place of contact operated when handset is lifted. Optical signalling indicates operational state. The telephone handrest (1) with microphone in base (9) and earpiece (11) in upper part has keyboard dialling mechanism. A manually operated push button (2) operates an internal contact and a toothed wheel engages with the button causing coloured flag indicator to move from behind screen (6). This button is pressed to dialling of number. When this is operated an indicator lamp illuminates.
