Abstract

The pressure control valve is fitted to the tyre valve and incorporates a main sprung element (6) plus an integral secondary sprung element (26). The pressure inlet to the tyre is closed off when the relevant pressure is reached. No separate venting line is required and the valve operates with a fast response to control the tyre pressure within close limits. There are two housing parts (2, 3) with a cylindrical bore (4) in which the main spring element (6) slides. There is a seal (8) preventing leakage. The secondary sprung element (26) slides in a stepped bore in the primary element (6). The lower end of the element (6) forms an integrated valve seat abutting against a valve element (18).
