Abstract

The slow running mechanism for an engine has an additional air inlet connected to the slow running jet in the carburettor. The mechanism is controlled by the pressure variation in the jet. The additional air is supplied in variable amounts increasing from light load conditions and decreasing again towards full load conditions. The air is taken from a connection in the air inlet manifold and the control is effected by means of diaphragms operating the air valves.
