Abstract

A foot support for a cardboard chest provides a space between the base of the chest and the storage area to allow the introduction of fork lifting gear. It comprises a part for spanning and gripping the edges of the outer flaps on the base of the chest, and the grip is reinforced by locking during the closure of the outer flaps on to the inner flaps of the chest. The foot has a hollow parallel piped section with diagonal reinforcements. The spanning or gripping area faces the rectangular surface. Openings or slots are formed in the foot for the insertion of strapping.
