Abstract

The runner, for fixing to the underside of a packing case to facilitate palletisation and handling, comprises a flanged box (1) with fixing clips (9) which may be supplemented by pins (6). Corner stiffeners are sited inside (4) at the bottom and outside (5) at the top. The arrangement provides resistance to crushing and allows inter house stacking. The underside may be provided with a non-skid surface (2) and may include holes (3) by which the unit can be drained or fixed to a rail. The flange is stiffened by channel formations (8) and includes openings (10) facilitating withdrawal from the mould, the clips being sited to the side or in the centre depending on the position in which the unit is fixed to a packing case.
