Abstract
The volume of a living body is measured utilising infrasonic waves and differential input manometer. By measuring weight the body density can be determined. The enclosure (1) contains the body (2) whose volume is required. An infrasound generator is provided comprising a piston (3) moving in a cylinder (5) which opens into the enclosure. The piston is driven by a crank (4) connected to a pin (6) in a flywheel (7) on a motor shaft (8). An outlet (9) from the enclosure connected to a differential input manometer (10) whose membrane (11) is connected to a measuring instrument (12). The body volume is determined from adiabatic pressure cycles.
