Abstract

The upright suspenders for the packing are provided with slits and the packing pieces comprise crosspieces fixed at each end in a detachable fashion in the slits of the uprights. Liquid dispersion plates are fixed near to each end of the crosspieces. The whole assembly is made of plastic and is suspended from the main framework of the installation. The packing is relatively light, easily set up, has a low maintenance cost and is corrosion resistant. It offers an improved heat transfer for the same vol. of material used compared to earlier packings. It is adaptable to a variety of uses.
