Abstract
The parent patent described a machine for coating the tips of saw blade teeth with a hard material such as stellite (RTM). The powdered or molten stellite is fed into a two-part mould, one part being located on each side of the saw blade. The novelty in the present invention is the use of a punch in conjunction with the two parts of the mould and, when the latter is closed the punch can be driven so it is pressed against the rear surface of each tooth during the coating operations. The punch is pref. mounted on a pivot on one mould half, whereas the punch actuating rod is located on the other mould half. The coating on each tooth tip has both an accurate shape and exact dimensions.
