Abstract

The valve is fitted to an atomising pump to permit initial priming of the system. This air is contained within the pumping chamber and is compressed when the piston cap (5) is depressed. This cap operates a hollow piston (6) which carries the discharge valve (16) for the atomising spray. A lip (26a) inside the skirt of this discharge valve passes over the end (1c) of the suction tube and the air compressed within the pumping chamber leaks past two sets (35, 36) of grooves in the suction tube end to escape through the suction tube itself.
