Abstract

A fire extinguisher, which uses a powder to extinguish the fire, has a cylindrical body (1) with a cap (2). The cap is held in position by two half rings (17) with ribs (16) which fit under the collar (4) of the body and by a pin (20) which fits in a hole (5a). The lower part of the cap has a groove (5c) for an 0-ring (7) which seals the powder inside the body. An 0-ring seal obviates the need for a screw thread, which may cause difficulties if the threads are clogged with powder.
