Abstract

The liq. compsn. which is injected into the air fuel mixture intake consists of a mixt. of by vol. 1-2% H2O2, 50-80% water; 15-45% aliphatic alcohol with 1-4C 2-15% thin lubricating oil and >5% rust inhibitor. Pref. the alcohol is ethanol. The mixt. is contained in a reservoir subjected to inlet manifold depression to spray the mixt. into the combustion intake gases and act as a moderator to depress the combustion peak. Road and laboratory tests indicated a positive fuel economy, coupled with a less toxic exhaust emission and improved engine performance.
