Abstract

The stiffener is made from a rectangular sheet of cardboard around which the body and sleeves of the shirt are folded. The sheet has a strip which can be folded at right angles and cut so as to retain the collar. On one or both sides of the cardboard sheet a sheet of muslin paper is applied and fixed. The muslin paper may be glued to the cardboard. The sheet of cardboard may have perforations. These may extend longitudinally off the sheet.
