Abstract

The stringboard is for a straight staircase, having as many similar prefabricated components as there are steps. Each of the components (2) has adjustable locking devices securing it to the adjacent ones, so that together they can form a stringboard of variable gradient. These devices can eachcomprise a fixing device engaging in an oblique elongated hole (6), and which can be secured in the hole in two or more positions corresponding to different gradients and thus to different heights and depths of steps. Each component can have a horizontal flange (3) supporting the tread, and two parallel edges inclined to the flange, along which the parallel oblique edges of adjacent components can be moved.
