Abstract

Ensemble de voilures tournantes pour giravions. L'ensemble est composé de deux rotors de diamètres nettement différents, co-axiaux, contrarotatifs qui tournent à des vitesses différentes sous un rapport qui peut être constant ou variable. Cette conception équilibre les couples de renversement, les couples et moments gyroscopiques ainsi que les dissymétries aérodynamiques, ce qui permet de supprimer le rotor vertical anti-couple de queue apportant un gain de puissance appréciable (10 à 30 %) avantageusement reporté sur les deux rotors. La différence de diamètres des deux rotors permet de réduire ou supprimer l'interaction aérodynamique du rotor supérieur sur le rotor inférieur, selon la constitution du rotor grand diamètre. L'amplitude du battement vertical des pales de chacun des rotors étant réduit à leur point de croisement, la distance de garde entre les rotors est considérablement diminuée. Le rendement de l'ensemble est amélioré et le pilotage de l'appareil en est facilité.
