Abstract

The kitchen unit, such as stove, oven or dish-washer, has a base (11) behind the front of the kitchen unit. A door of the appliance which fits through the front of the kitchen unit, is covered by a door which can flap by ninety degrees. In its folded-up position, the door-flap can be inserted into a compartment underneath the kitchen appliance. Between the appliance (1) and the base (11), as a separate unit, is a support (5) which takes the door-flap (2) after it has been folded up. The support (5) consists of a U shaped frame with side guide rails. The door-flap (2) is hinged to a transverse bar which slides on the guide rails. In the support (5) or frame is an electric switch (16) which is operated by the door flap (2) being pushed in.
