Abstract
L'invention est relative à un procédé et à un appareil pour surchauffer des gaz. Appareil réchauffeur à arc pour la production d'une source de chaleur à haute énergie, comprenant un compartiment de mélange 38, une série de réchauffeurs à arc 11 montés radialement par rapport à ce compartiment 38 et communiquant avec lui, un réacteur communiquant avec l'extrémité aval de ce compartiment de mélange 38, un système d'admission 53 prévu à l'extrémité aval du compartiment pour l'introduction d'un composé métallique oxydable dans le réacteur, et des moyens 43 prévus dans le compartiment de mélange pour assurer la circulation des gaz surchauffés provenant des réchauffeurs à arc depuis l'extrémité amont du compartiment vers le réacteur. Application dans le domaine de la production d'oxydes métalliques.
