Abstract

Procédé d'épuration de solutions alcalines contenant de la soude à l'état libre, du carbonate de sodium, du sulfate de sodium, de l'aluminate de sodium, ainsi que d'autres impuretés d'origines minérales et/ou organiques, selon lequel on caustifie complètement ou partiellement les solutions précitées par l'addition d'une quantité adéquate de chaux, à une température au plus égale à l'ébullition, on sépare le premier précipité constitué pour l'essentiel par du carbonate de sodium et concentre la liqueur séparée par évaporation jusqu'à l'obtention d'une teneur en NaOH libre au plus égale à 50% pour précipiter le sulfate de sodium, en ce que l'on sépare ce deuxième précipité et la liqueur-mère riche en soude, que l'on récupère. Ce procédé est plus paticulièrement adapté aux traitements des liqueurs issus de l'attaque alcaline de minerais alumineux.
