Abstract

A heat exchanger of the type comprising a cylindrical surface and a scraper blade incorporates a scraper blade with suction orifice of elonated form comprised between two lips extendin over the lenth of the scraper. The principal suction orifice communicates with a dischare duct. The lips are pref. supported by a tubular component, the hollow core of which constitutes the dischare duct, and which is mounted so as to pivot about its longitudinal axis. One of the lips is pref. the scraper blade and the tubular component constitutes simultaneously a blade carrier and a part of the duct for discharin the scraped product. The invention allows the simultaneous recovery of all the fragments and the fine particles of products formed durin the scrapin, from their appearance at the contact of the scraper blade with the crust of solidified product adhering to the cylinder of the heat exchanger. It prevents the spread of fines into the atmos. around the cylinder. This is partic. important in the case when the product is very costly or dangerous, e.g. radioactive.
