Abstract

The dipole gyrator, exhibits a high impedance for AC current and a low resistance to DC current. The gyrator is placed in each supply branch to a telephone line, to reduce coupling between different lines coupled to the same supply. It uses a transistor (T) as the active element, whose collector is coupled directly to one terminal (A) and its emitter coupled via a resistor to another terminal (A'). The transistor base is coupled to the output of an operational amplifier (OP). The non-inverting input (V1) of the amplifier (OP) is connected to the first terminal (A) via a resistor (RB) and to the second terminal (A') via a resistor (RP) and capacitor (C) in parallel. The inverting input (V2) of the amplifier (OP) is coupled to the transistor emitter.
