Abstract

L'invention concerne un nouveau procédé de traitement du tabac afin d'améliorer les qualités de celui-ci. Le traitement s'applique plus particulièrement à des tabacs qui sont habituellement soumis à une fermentation. Suivant une caractéristique principale de l'invention, on traite le tabac par addition d'un sel de métal alcalin, avant ou au cours de la fermentation. Un exemple d'application de l'invention réside dans la fermentation artificielle des tabacs bruns.
