Abstract

L'invention a pour objet un procédé de préparation de copolymères caoutchouteux de cyclopentène et de dicyclopentadiène, sensiblement exempts de gel, qui consiste à polymériser des mélanges de cyclopentène et de dicyclopentadiène contenant environ 10 à 60 % en poids de dicyclopentadiène au sein d'un solvant aliphatique, cycloaliphatique ou aromatique. On effectue la polymérisation dans un réacteur de polymérisation continu à stade unique et en présence d'un système catalytique comprenant : A. un halogénure ou oxyhalogénure de tungstène soluble; B. au moins un composé choisi parmi les composés trialkyl-aluminium, les halogénures de dialkyl-aluminium, les sesquihalogénures d'alkyl-aluminium et les dichlorures d'alkyl-aluminium; C. au moins un composé hydroxylique choisi parmi les alcools aliphatiques et les alcools aliphatiques substitués par des groupes alcoxy ou aryloxy; et D. un phénol polyhalogéné de formule générale :The invention relates to a process for the preparation of rubbery copolymers of cyclopentene and dicyclopentadiene, substantially free of gel, which consists in polymerizing mixtures of cyclopentene and dicyclopentadiene containing about 10 to 60% by weight of dicyclopentadiene in a aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic solvent. The polymerization is carried out in a continuous single stage polymerization reactor and in the presence of a catalyst system comprising: A. a soluble tungsten halide or oxyhalide; B. at least one compound selected from trialkylaluminum compounds, dialkylaluminum halides, alkylaluminum sesquihalides and alkylaluminum dichlorides; C. at least one hydroxylic compound selected from aliphatic alcohols and aliphatic alcohols substituted with alkoxy or aryloxy groups; and D. a polyhalogenated phenol of the general formula:
