Abstract

An integral brake for a dispensing roller comprises a sleeve of wear-resistant compressible material between the roller bore and a supporting mandrel. Pref. the brake is a longitudinally ribbed sleeve of polyurethane foam which is mounted as a push fit into the roller or on to the mandrel. Opt. the end of the roller is secured by an axial clamp which may also be line with the same sort of flexible foam friction material. Used on towel, ticket or ink dispensers, etc. The brake is simple to make and fit or replace, is concealed and not directly in contact with the material being dispensed.
