Abstract

The drawing of Al alloy scrap involves the scrap being charged directly into the press container, a partical vacuum created in the container, and the scrap compressed and extruded in the form of profiles, the vacuum being created during compression and ceasing abruptly at the start of drawing. Process enables scrap to be recuperated without melting it so that the process is cheaper than conventional methods.
