Abstract
A windmill with variable pitch blades transmits power by a shaft and bevel gears to a pump. The pump delivers fluid to a reservoir which supplies fluid to an hydraulic motor. the discharge from the motor is collected in a tank and delivered to the pump and so completes the hydraulic circuit. The windmill is controlled by an anemometer mounted on the rotor housing or by a wind-speed controller. This system stores energy when it is not required for immediate use.
