Pour exécuter sur la surface externe d'un tuyau en fonte, ou tube en acier, un revêtement par exemple en polyéthylène haute densité, on chauffe l'élément tubulaire à une température d'environ 250 degrés C et on saupoudre l'élément en rotation avec un mélange pulvérulent comprenant outre le polyéthylène un agent de réticulation, qui, chauffé par un contact avec l'élément tubulaire, forme par reticulation le revêtement voulu.
