Abstract

The frame of the tennis or squash racquet is made from tubular metal, this being shaped in one piece to form the strung frame and the handle sections (10). The gap in the lower part of the strung frame is closed by a one-piece bridge (11). This has a passage (13) for locating the frame section (14) each side, a hollow rivet (19) holding the joint and forming a passage for a string. The central portion (12) is pierced (16) for further strings (S) on the racquet, these passing through plastic bushes (17) to prevent fraying.
