Abstract

522,222. Rackets. CLOUGH, F., and FOX & CO., Ltd., S. Dec. 8, 1938, No. 35893. [Class 132 (ii)] A racket for tennis or other games comprises a bow or frame made from a strip of sheet metal by turning the edges into tubular form 9, Fig. 4, to constitute flanges and connecting them together as by welding, at the central part of the channel thus formed. The edges 11 may abut or may be lapped one over the other. A curved metal strip 12 may cover the stringing lying in the channel. A bridge piece 13 of similar construction to the frame completes the bow. The free ends of the frame are riveted together and encased in a wooden handle 8.
