Abstract

Tennis racket comprises a curved profiled metal frame consisting of a core on both sides of which are two tubular portions lined with high-strength fibres which are impregnated with resin which is polymerised in situ. The external shape of the profile comprises two opposed grooves in the plane of the strings, of which the groove facing outwards allows protection of the strings. The racket further comprises a central arch which completes the shape of the disc of the racket, which also has passages for the strings, and of which the ends have a shape conjugate with the groove of the profile which faces inwards, so as to allow rigid anchoring together of these two parts. The racket allows good damping of vibrations caused by the impact of the ball, and the interior of the tube cannot communicate with the atmos. via the passages for the strings.
