Abstract

The part of the frame of the racquet (2) which surrounds the strings contains the holes which are used for stringing the racquet. These holes (6a, 6b) are parallel to the general plane of the head of the racquet (W-W) but are placed in two lines alternately on each side of this plane. The ends of each string are bent alternately in opposite directions near the point at which they pass through the holes in the frame. This limits the effects of torsion in the frame when a ball is hit.
