Abstract

Na silicate soln. pref. has an SiO2/Na2o of 2-2.10, is 44-46 degree Baume at 20 degrees C, has a viscosity of 100-200 cPo and density of 0 degree C of 1.446-1.482. A pref. compsn. contains plaster, dry sand and silicate in a wt. ratio of 6-25:20-44:25-30. Claimed compsns. have ratios 25:25:25, 25:25:27 12.5:12.5:15, 6:19:15 and 3:22:15. Compsn. has similar bedding, setting and strength props. to prior art polyster resin but gives off no noxious or flammable vapours.
