Abstract

Building blocks for non-load-bearing sepg. walls are made from a liq. mixt. contg. 1000kg. plaster of Paris, 700-900 kg. chalk (naturally occurring CaCO3) with a particle size of mainly 1500 mu m and water. The liq. mixt. is cast into a mould contg. block-shaped cavities and allowed to harden. Pref. the particle size of the chalk is such that 10% has a particle size of 10-50 mu m, >=60% has a particle size of >50 mu m, and 10-30% has a particle size of 10 mu m. The blocks have excellent sound insulation properties.
