Abstract

The supply circuit, for a PC/AC converter, has a bipolar switch connecting the converter load to a first circuit coupled to the dc supply when in one position, and when in the other position it connects the load to a second circuit coupled to the AC output of the converter. A first control circuit regulates the action of the switch in response to the converter operation. The DC current in the first circuit and the AC current in the second circuit are detected and then passed to a second control circuit that connects the converter to the DC supply and keeps it connected as long as there is an AC output.
