Abstract

The folding commode is intended for aged or handicapped people, and consists of a rigid seat (1). Underneath the seat are two slide pieces on which can be slide a portable bowl (8) placed underneath the seat aperture (5). The front of the seat has hinged to it the two top ends of two back legs (13). The two back legs are also hinged, halfway down (15) to two front legs (17) which are extended upwards into two upright (20), each of which supports an arm-rest (25) and rigid back (19). The tops of the two front feet are joined by a horizontal cross-piece on which rests the back part of the rigid seat (1) when the chair is unfolded.
