Abstract
An electronic electromagnetic circuit allows the modulation and calling circuit to be switched off during dialling process from the telephone keyboard dial. this allows the specialised integrated circuit to continue operating during reduction of line current during dialling. Operation of dialling key causes output from integrated circuit (SN1) to cause transistor (T1) to conduct. A capacitor (C7) charges through bistable relay coil (RL) and relay shunts listening and bell circuits. When dialling ceases transistor becomes non conducting while another transistor (T7) becomes saturated and causes capacitor to discharge. The relay then operates in opposite direction to open contacts for conversation.
