Abstract

1,041,329. Automatic exchange systems. SOC. D'ELECTRONIQUE ET D'AUTOMATISME. May 21, 1965 [June 9, 1964], No. 21706/65. Headings H4K and H4R. A substation located in an inflammable atmosphere which includes a speech amplifier IV and an amplifier-oscillator V, III for generating calling current in a sound-powered microphone 21 is connected to the exchange line Q, R by way of a repeating unit I having a line transformer 6 and an impulse-repeating relay 2. The circuits III, IV, V are transistorized and are supplied from a low-voltage battery 22 which is charged during conversation from the battery 9 of the unit I. On an incoming call, ringing current is applied over the transformer 6 to the amplifier V which triggers the oscillator III. The subscriber replies by moving the switch 20 to the left-hand position shown in which the microphone 21 is connected to the input of the amplifier IV, the loud-speaker 23 being connected to the output. On an outgoing call, the switch 20 is moved to the position shown in which the battery 22 is connected to operate relay 2 through a transistor 1 to give a calling signal. If the exchange is an automatic one, impulses from the dial 24 are repeated by relay 2.
