Abstract
1,164,592. Interconnection systems. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. 17 Jan., 1968 [18 Jan., 1967], No. 2603/68. Heading H4K. In a system particularly for hospitals, each patient is provided with a loudspeaker TL for connection by a line unit L, LN to a common speech line S which may be connected at a switchboard Vx to a main station Hu or to a suitably located secondary station Bi. The actuation of a pushbutton K by a patient operates through a calling unit A, AN an identifier Id which controls a lamp or other indicator Tb. If the call is answered at Bi by actuation of key Ks, the line unit L, LN of the caller, which has been prepared by A, AN, is operated to effect the connection to line S. If A, AN has been restored, key Ki may be used to effect the connection by a control over line S1. If the call is answered from the main station Hu the caller is selected without the use of the identifier Id. A non-calling patient may also be selected through the switchboard Vx. To provide for simultaneous calls, a device To may scan the identifier Id cyclically or in some preferential order. The loudspeakers TL may also be connected to program lines PP.
