Abstract
Suspension point esp. for submarine cables, fuel cables etc. normally connecting a surface vessel, rig or buoy with an installation on the sea bed or another buoy. The point is resistant to shearing and the flexing of such cables due to tides etc. and relies on tapered reinforcing of the cable at the suspension point. The positive buoyancy point has connection points (13) on opposite sides into which the cables (11) are connected. Reinforcement consists of tubes (14, 18) of a succession of a plastic material tubes preferably thermoplastic each of a different length progressively stiffening the cable as it approaches the suspension point.
