Abstract

Process uses a heat carrier in relative movement to heat the textile over 2-18 s to 30-70 degrees C above its destruction temp., in which the total flow rate of convected and radiant heat is 3 x 103 to 7 x 103 kcal/m2.h. Relative movement of the heat carrier (e.g. air or steam) and the textile is 0.5-5 m2/g. Pref. the textile is subjected to alternating heat cycles, e.g. in saturated and superheated steam. High and consistent fixing rates are obtd. without damage to the textiles.
