Abstract

A tool for the electrochemical marking of a metallic surface is coupled to the negative pole of a voltage source and the workpiece to the plus pole. An electrolyte is active in the gap between them. The tool has individual elements, arranged in a 7-segment pattern which can be individually activated to represent a variety of markings. This is a very simple marking tool. Many different figures and letters can be etched without exchanging any elements.
