Abstract

The set of four (3, 4) prefabricated precast window liners is used to line the sides, the head, and the sill of a window opening respectively. Each member has a square external return (15, 19) which overlaps the edge (11) of the opening and is detailed to suit external wall finishes (14). The liners may be of conventional reinforced concrete or incorporate lightweight aggregate e.g. expanded clay. Window fittings e.g. hinge pins or fixing anchorages may be cast into the liners, or holes may be provided for such fittings. Each member has a plane external face abutting the relevant edge (11) of the window opening.
