Abstract

Gas bottles, containing liquefied butane or propane are checked on a production line for min imum weight of gas and for a maximum level of liquified gas to ensure required safety margin is obtained. Gas botles (B) are transported (2) to various filling and test operations. A vertical structure (5) on a base (4) has two lateral guides (7) for the bottles. An upper cross m member (6) carries a support (8) for an articulated assembly (9) comprising two parallel crank arms (10, 11) with a cross member and counter weight (16). These cranks pivot (12, 13) to move a beam (18) vertically. An arm (21) at base of beam carries a gamma radiation emitter while a second arm carries detector to sense level of liquified gas in the bottle.
